About this site
Criminal Defense Resources™ is a free resource hub for families of people facing criminal charges, especially defendants who represent themselves (pro per/pro se), anywhere in the United States. It has three parts: a directory of court rulings, a provider directory (Find Help), and a Bookshelf.
Who runs it?
The site is run by Christine Burke von Riddern of Strategic Intelligence Services, PLLC, a licensed private investigation agency serving clients since 2008. She also hosts the YouTube channel Help Solve The Case.
How are rulings chosen and checked?
We include landmark U.S. Supreme Court rulings plus federal appeals court and state court rulings on topics that come up often for self-represented defendants. Each case name, court, date, and citation is checked against public court records such as CourtListener and Cornell's Legal Information Institute, and each page links to the full opinion. If we cannot verify a case, we do not list it.
Is this legal advice?
No. General educational information, not legal advice. Not a law firm. Summaries are short and general and can leave out details that matter. Laws change and later cases can limit earlier ones. Talk with a licensed attorney about any specific case.
How can I report an error?
Please use the contact page. Tell us the ruling and what looks wrong.
