What did the court decide?

The Arizona Supreme Court held that neither the Fourth Amendment nor the Arizona Constitution's private affairs clause requires a warrant for police to obtain a person's IP address or internet subscriber information from a service provider.

Why does it matter?

Not all digital information is protected the same way. Subscriber records were treated differently from phone contents or location history.
